Dorothy Marie McCroskey

Dorothy Marie McCroskey age 88 of Maryville passed away Thursday, August 29, 2019 at UT Medical Center. Dorothy was a member of Everett Hill Baptist Church and taught 5th and 6th grade Sunday School for 50 years. She was a Cub Scout Troop leader for 26 years and was awarded the Silver Fawn and God and Country Awards. Dorothy was a world class cook, enjoyed painting and poetry. Preceded in death by: Parents, Herbert and Frieda Creighton, Daughter, Yolanda Pendley Beeler, 3 Grandsons, Anthony Kyle Carpenter, Michael Shane Carpenter, Jason Eugene Pendley; Granddaughter, Teresa Ann Pendley; 1 Brother and 3 Sisters. Survived by: Husband, George McCroskey; Sons and Daughters-in-law, Allen O. Moon (Nancy), Randy J. Moon, Brian J. Moon (Rhonda), Brian D. McCroskey; Daughters and Son-in-law, Vickie S. Wade, Diana D. Strange (Danny); 12 Grandchildren; 32 Great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Everett Hill Baptist Church, 401 South Everett High Rd., Maryville, 37804. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 PM with Brother John Franklin and Pat Bradley officiating.
