David L. Holbert

David Leonard Holbert went to be with the Lord on October 19th, 2018. David was born on January 28th, 1930 in Akron, Ohio to Clyde and Alma Holbert. David was a devout Christian, husband and father. He is survived by his wife of over 54 years, Anna (McKinley) Holbert, two sons; Rodney L. and David A. Holbert and his brother Dallas Holbert. David had 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. David was a veteran of the U.S. Army, he worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber, Texas Oil Drilling Companies, was a restaurant manager, before retiring with 29 years of service with the General Motors Corporation. Upon his retirement, David and Anna moved to Maryville, TN where he drove cars for both Hertz and Enterprise Auto Rental Companies for 15 years. David had a love for cars, golfing with his sons & friends and spending time with his family. He will be truly missed by all that knew him and he will never be forgotten. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 22, 2018 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm with a funeral service to follow at Smith Funeral & Cremation Service: 1402 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, TN 37803.
