Betty Jean Rakestraw

Betty Jean Rakestraw, 89, passed away peacefully at home in Alcoa, TN September 22, 2019. Preceded in death by parents Charles and Helen Long. Survived by husband of 67 years Harry Rakestraw, son Steve (Ann) Rakestraw, daughter Jane (Mike) Jenkins, grandchildren Amanda Farner (Clint Russell), Melanie Jenkins (RJ Michaels) and Chara Rakestraw, great grandchildren Isla, Parker, Natalie and Merritt. Betty had a 38 year career as a registered nurse at Blount Memorial Hospital and enjoyed golf upon retirement. She was a long time member of First United Methodist Church of Alcoa. Very thankful for loving care provided by Mattie Trapp with Stay at Home and Caris Hospice. Services will be private.
