Betty Jean Draper

December 30, 1928 — October 11, 2018

Betty Jean Coleman Draper stepped into eternity on October 11, 2018 with her daughters by her side. She was a member of Maryville Church of Christ. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Basil Duane Draper; parents, James H. Coleman, Sr. and Ann Cochran Coleman; brother, James H. (Bud) Coleman, Jr.; and infant son, Scott Andrew Draper. Betty was a devoted Christian daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, and friend and will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Betty was born in Maryville, TN on December 30, 1928. She was a graduate of Everett High School and David Lipscomb College in Nashville. She worked for several years for the Aluminum Company of America before leaving to become a stay-at-home mother. While living in the Chattanooga area, Betty served for many years as a “Pink Lady” volunteer at Erlanger Hospital. Betty is survived by daughter Ann Draper of Alcoa, TN; daughter Lynn Bradshaw (Brad) of Peachtree Corners, GA; and grandchildren Emily & Frank Bradshaw, also of Peachtree Corners, GA; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members. The family will receive friends on October 13th from 10:00 am-10:45 am at Smith West Chapel. Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and interment at 11:00 am at Grandview Cemetery, with Steve Coleman officiating.
