Benjamin Lane Bryan

June 29, 1988 — December 15, 2021

Benjamin Lane Bryan (Ben), age 33, passed away on December 15, 2021, at his home in Dickson, Tennessee. Ben was born to Kerry and Angi Bryan on June 29, 1988 in Florence, Alabama, where he completely captivated their hearts with his bright red hair as soon as the doctors placed him in their arms. Ben was a funny child with an adventurous spirit who loved making memories with his friends and family- memories that would lead to legendary stories that will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. He loved trying new things, traveling with his family, playing baseball across the country with his dad, creating and sharing music, making people laugh, and cheering for Alabama football. Like all of us, Ben was not without struggles and fought hard to overcome a tough battle with addiction. In his final years, he walked an incredibly brave road in recovery. Ben focused extremely hard on working his recovery steps while also helping and loving as many people as he possibly could along the way. He was proud of the new life he had built, including his work with Mathias Cleaning and Buffalo Wild Wings in Dickson, TN. He made it clear to those who knew him best that he wanted to use his story and his experiences to help others in their battles with addiction. More than anything, Ben loved people - all people. It was not uncommon for Ben to give everything he had (and sometimes what he didn’t have) to help others. He lived to make other people laugh and lit up every room with his presence. Ben truly lived - always modeling how to treat others better than yourself and how to selflessly love. His family will never be the same with the void he leaves behind in their hearts. He is survived by his Dad, Kerry Bryan of Kodak; his “Momma” and step-father, Angi & Josh Covey, of Kodak; his baby sister, Emma Bryan of Knoxville; his older sister and her husband, Bradi and Bradley Sewell of Niota, his beloved nephews, Jabari, Holden, and Elliot Sewell, his grandparents, Jerry and Linda Jenkins of Killen, Alabama, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, special friends, his work family, and so many that were a part of his recovery journey. The family will host a gathering to celebrate Ben’s life with his friends and family on December 28, 2021, 2021 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at the Life Event Center, 1404 Tuckaleechee Pike Maryville, TN 37803. Light refreshments will be served, and dress will be casual. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a place that was very special to Ben - the place that provided him with the tools and the people he needed to walk bravely in recovery: Discovery Place, 1635 Spencer Mill Road Burns, Tennessee 37029, www.discoveryplace.info To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Benjamin Lane Bryan please visit our Sympathy Store.
