  • Jason L Chambers

    Jason L Chambers, President and Licensed Funeral Director-CFSP

    Jason has lived in Maryville all his life, graduating from Maryville High School and the University of Tennessee. He is a past president of the Greater Knoxville Funeral Service Association. Jason coached with Maryville Little League and is an avid fisherman. He and his wife Angie have two children.

  • Dr. Lynn Gibson

    Dr. Lynn Gibson, President and Licensed Funeral Director-CFSP

    A graduate of the University of Tennessee, Dallas Theological Seminary, Oxford Graduate School, and Stellenbosch University, Dr. Gibson enjoys research, writing, and teaching, and is an active member of several professional organizations. Dr. Gibson and his wife, Dr. Angelia Gibson are members of First Baptist Church of Maryville and have three sons and one daughter.

  • Lisa Gibson

    Lisa Gibson, Vice-President and Licensed Funeral Director-CFSP

    Lisa began her funeral service career in 1991. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, a Leadership Blount Alumni ('02) and a long-time member of Maryville First Baptist Church. She is the facilitator for Smith's We Care & Share group and the Director for Smith Event Centers. Lisa and her husband have three sons.

  • Tuck Smith

    Tuck Smith, Grief Therapy Dog

    My name is Tuck. I am a friendly and fluffy Golden Doodle puppy right now, but I am in training to be a Grief Therapy Dog. I love my new job and hope to bring lots of comfort to people in our community. Hugs and belly rubs are two of my favorite things.

  • Lee Berkley

    Lee Berkley, Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer

    Lee joined the Smith staff in 1984 after his graduation from Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta. He is currently serving in the Blount County Volunteer Rescue Squad where he has volunteered for many years. He is also a member of the Tennessee Funeral Directors Association. He and his wife Linda have two sons. Lee is Cub Scout Master of Pack 1776 at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, in Louisville. Lee is a member of Smith Life & Legacy's 30-Year Club.

  • Jenni Bryant CFSP

    Jenni Bryant CFSP, Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer-CFSP

    Jenni is a graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta and began her funeral service career at Smiths in 2000. Jenni is a member of the Professional Development Committee for NFDA, is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice, and is currently serving on the National Board Exam Committee. She and her husband David have one son.

  • David Everett

    David Everett, Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer

    A member of the Tennessee Funeral Directors Association, David graduated from Porter High School and Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta. His wife Teresa and their children attend Piney Level Baptist Church.

  • Rob Caldwell

    Rob Caldwell, Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer

    Rob joined the staff of Smiths in 2002 and is a Past-President of the Greater Knoxville Funeral Service Association. He is a graduate of Maryville High School and Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Atlanta. Rob volunteers for the Blount County United Way. He and his wife Susan are members of Forrest Hill Baptist Church.

  • Roger  Jennings

    Roger Jennings, Licensed Funeral Director

    Roger began his funeral service career at Smiths in 1998 and is also a licensed insurance agent. He is a member of the Tennessee Funeral Directors Association. He and his wife Regina are members of Maryville Church of Christ.

  • David Compton

    David Compton, Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer

    David is a graduate of Maryville High School and joined the staff of Smiths in 2009 after graduating from John A. Gupton College in Nashville where he received the Dodge Award for “Excellence in the Art of Embalming.” David is a member of the Tennessee Funeral Directors Association. He & his wife Lynn, along with their 3 children, are members of Central Baptist Church of Alcoa.

  • Tracy Gardner

    Tracy Gardner, Business Office Administrator

    A Certified Professional Secretary and member of the International Association of Administrative Professionals, Tracy is a graduate of Heritage High School and Pellissippi State Community College. Tracy joined the Smith staff in 1998. She and her husband Brad have a son and daughter and they are members of Law's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church.

  • Becky Gabehart

    Becky Gabehart, Licensed Funeral Director/Executive Assistant

    Becky is a graduate of the University of Central Florida in Orlando. She joined the Smith staff in 2013. She and her husband, Duane, are members of Sevier Heights Baptist Church, along with their son and daughter.

  • Chris LaRue CPC

    Chris LaRue CPC, Apprentice Funeral Director/ Funeral Assistant-CPC

    Chris’ previous career was in the financial services industry where he worked as an instructor, consultant and Vice President of Business Development for a securities broker dealer. He is a member of several professional and civic organizations including Maryville Rotary Club and Leadership Blount (2000-2001). Chris is also certified as a Funeral Celebrant. He and his wife, Jennifer, and their son and daughter are members of First Baptist Church of Maryville where he serves as a Deacon.

  • Andrew  Goodman

    Andrew Goodman, Funeral Associate - Apprentice

    Andrew joined the staff after completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Art Institute of Atlanta. He is currently working as an Apprentice while he completes the requirements for a TN Funeral Director's license through John A. Gupton Mortuary College in Nashville.

  • Shirley Ford

    Shirley Ford, Funeral Assistant

    Shirley began as a door greeter in 1997 and continues to work as an assistant with funeral and memorial services.

  • Jerry Hurst

    Jerry Hurst, Funeral Assistant & Event Host

    Since 2006, Jerry was been assisting with funeral and memorial services. He and his wife Betty also assist guests at Smith Event Centers. They are both are members of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church.

  • Mack Brown

    Mack Brown, Funeral Assistant

    Mr. Brown joined the Smith staff in 2012 to assist with visitations, funeral and memorial services. He retired from Alcoa Aluminum Company in 1996. He and his wife Faye are long time members of Maryville First Baptist Church.

  • Brent Hammonds

    Brent Hammonds, Funeral Assistant

    Brent began his role as an assistant with funeral and memorial services in 2014. He and his wife are active members of Broadway Baptist Church in Maryville.

  • John Adams

    John Adams, Funeral Assistant

    John is our newest addition to the Smith Care Team joining our staff in March 2017. He helps families with visitations, memorial and funeral services.

  • Wendy Manley

    Wendy Manley, Preplanning Specialist

  • Chris Kline

    Chris Kline, Apprentice Funeral Director / Grounds and maintenance

    Chris handles all the grounds and maintenance for the entire Smith campus as he is learning about funeral service to earn his Tennessee Funeral Directors license.

  • Don Gibson

    Don Gibson, Senior Advisory Board Chairman; Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer-CFSP

    Mr. Gibson began his funeral service career with Smiths in 1962 after working at Weaver Funeral Home in Knoxville. He attended the University of Tennessee and is a graduate of John A. Gupton Mortuary College in Nashville. He is involved in civic and professional organizations and has served on the Advisory Board of the National Funeral Directors Association. He is a past president of the Maryville Lions Club. He and his wife Sue are long time members of First Baptist Church of Maryville.
