James "Jimmy" Arlin Goforth

James Arlin Goforth, age 75 of Greenback, went home to be with his heavenly father on Friday, November 24, 2017. He attended Knob Rd. Missionary Baptist Church and was a heavy machine operator for Vulcan Materials for 40 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Tina Goforth of Maryville; sisters, Ethel Davidson of Maryville, Judy Bellew of Henderville, N.C.; and nephew, William Cook of Henderville, N.C. Survivors include his wife and best friend of 37 years, Betty Goforth; sons and daughters-in-law, James Jr. and Kristi Goforth of Maryville, Steve and Lorie Goforth of Butler, TN, and Buddy and Crissy Goforth of Madisonville; daughter, Kim Goforth of Greenville; sisters, Shirley Anderson of Maryville and Mary and Tom Howard of North Carolina; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family also survive. The family will receive friends from 11:00am until 1:00pm on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Knob Rd. Missionary Baptist Church with a Celebration of Jimmy’s life to follow at 1:00pm with Rev.’s Darryl Croft, Jerry Little, and Marcus Little officiating. The burial will follow at Four Mile Baptist Church Cemetery.
