Hugh Allison Sayler, 89, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Blount Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Hugh was a 33 year very proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force and Tennessee Air National Guard, having served in Japan and Korea (1951-52) and Germany (1961-62) during the Berlin Crisis. He was born, lived and educated in Greene County. He lived in New York, Indiana, and Georgia before returning to Tennessee in 1958. Hugh was a member of St. John United Methodist Church, Maryville for more than 50 years, serving where needed. Preceded in death by: parents, Herman A. & Pauline Pickering Sayler; brother, Edwin Sayler and nephew, Jeff Sayler of Greenville. Survived by: wife of 59 years, Evelyn Moore Sayler; son, Scott (Jenia) Sayler of Greenville, daughter, Angie (Randy) Everett of Maryville; grandchildren, Kacie & Jed West, Lexie and Ben Hadden and Abbie Everett of Maryville, Amber Williford, Paul and Brittney Sayler of Greenville; great-grandchildren, Lucy, Jay, Emmy, Grayson, and Cooper (due 4-18); sister-in-law, Norma Sayler and 2 nephews of Greenville; special friends, Wes Beaver, Gomer Gaby, Pat & Henry Smith.
