Helga H. Connors

Helga H. Connors age 91, died Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Shannondale of Maryville Health Care Center. Connors, who was born in Minneapolis, graduated from North Central College in Naperville, IL, with a Bachelor of Science degree in commerce and economics. She held accounting positions in Aurora, IL where she lived and later formed her own accounting firm in that city. She retired in 1989. While an Aurora resident, Connors volunteered at Hesed House for the homeless and served Meals on Wheels. In 1992 she moved with her husband, Robert, to Durham, NC. There she volunteered for Meals on Wheels and also was a reading tutor for the Durham Public School System. After moving to Clemson, SC, in 2001, she was active in Meals on Wheels and served on the board of the retirement community where she lived. Connors and her husband moved to Maryville in 2007 and resided in the Shannondale of Maryville. Besides her husband, whom she married in 1957, Connors is survived by her daughter, Lisa Daley of Knoxville and husband, Dr. Brian Daley; and three grandchildren, Andrew (married to Lee Wilson), Sara and Patrick Daley. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at 2:30 PM in the Shannondale of Maryville Assisted Living Chapel.
