Gene Douglas Griffitts

Gene Douglas Griffitts age 65 of Maryville passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Blount Memorial Transitional Care. He was an avid racing fan for local and ARCA racing, a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles, a philanthropist who setup a scholarship fund for Tennessee Wesleyan University, and supporter of local musicians. Gene retired from ALCOA and worked for Budget and Airport Auto Auction. Preceded in death by: Parents, Harry & Erma Griffitts; Special Girlfriend, Pam Jones. Survivors include: Lifelong friend and companion, Fran Palmer; cousins and many friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
