Carol L Jackson

December 25, 1941 — December 17, 2017

Carol Louise Jackson (nee Chato), wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the people who loved her, to be with the Lord on December 17, 2017, at the age of 75 years. She joins her parents, Alex and Marie Chato, in heaven and leaves behind a husband, Herbert Davis Jackson, two children, Kenneth Jackson and Suzane Marie Pruett, two grandchildren, Nicole Suzane Jackson and Hailey “Lex” Kendle Pruett, and several cousins and friends whom she loved endlessly. She was born in Trenton, New Jersey, December 25th, 1941, and attended Ewing High School, where she met Herb, the love of her life, and married him in 1961. In 1973 she and Herb moved to and lived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, for many years until they retired and moved one final time to Maryville, Tn. in 2001. Her children, Sue and Kenny, and grandchildren Nicole and Hailey, followed and lived with or near her until her passing. She will forever be remembered as an eternal loyal wife, an unconditionally loving mother, and a doting guardian angel to her dear grandchildren. A service will be held in her memorial at Smith Funeral and Cremation Service on Saturday, December 23rd, at 1 pm for anyone wishing to say farewell and celebrate Carol’s rich life and her impact on all of us. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Blount County Animal Shelter in her name.
